Access vs. Inclusion

Immersed in a breathtaking natural landscape, savoring mouthwatering cuisine, delving into invigorating yoga sessions, and engaging in soul-stirring conversations—our retreats are truly remarkable experiences. Yet, what sets them apart is the profound connections and vibrant community that blossom amidst these adventures. Strangers swiftly evolve into cherished friends, forging bonds that endure beyond the confines of our retreats.

At Embodied Living, we hold a fundamental belief that mere access to a group, an experience, or an individual does not equate to genuine inclusion. Many yearn for an authentic sense of belonging, a desire that demands courage—to be fully witnessed, heard, and valued for one's unique essence in this vast cosmos. True inclusion transcends participation; it necessitates vulnerability, discomfort, and an unwavering commitment to remain authentically oneself amidst others. It's about dismantling barriers, cultivating empathetic listening, navigating challenging dialogues, and embracing both shared joy and pain, all while fostering curiosity over judgment.

Authentic belonging isn't negotiated externally; it's an intrinsic quality carried within the depths of one's heart. It's the recognition of the sacredness inherent in being part of a collective tapestry. When we arrive at this profound realization—even fleetingly—we find ourselves simultaneously belonging everywhere and nowhere. It's in those transformative moments, like those experienced on retreat, where individuals embody support, uplift one another, and true healing and growth unfold.
In these instances, we reignite our innate desire to cultivate a life rich in genuine connections and compassionate commnity care.

Witnessing the blossoming of these profound relationships reminds us of their indispensable role in our holistic well-being as humans. To capture the essence of these bonds, we've compiled a list titled 'You know you've found your people when...'

Yet, if these sentiments feel like distant aspirations, remember that you possess the agency to chart a new course, to seek out new connections, and to embrace the boundless possibilities that await. Trust that a different adventure beckons, one where you bravely navigate towards finding life long friends. For we fervently believe—they are out there, and life's symphony is infinitely sweeter when they stand by your side.
